ボンネット上のルーバーですが、ネットで見たタミヤの光硬化パテの応用例を試してみようと思います。 まず OHP シートにパターンを印刷します。
印刷したOHPシートに光硬化パテを薄く塗って硬化させます。何回か試しましたが、 OHPシートと別の板でパテを挟んで、光源から30センチ程度の距離でゆっくり硬化させてやるとうまくいきました。 パターンは細長い D 字ですが、出来上がったものは楕円気味になってます。 パターンの印刷面と反対にパテを塗ったので、シートの厚みの分だけ現像がボケてしまったのかもしれません。 もう一度試してみて、だめならエッチングで作り直しを考えます。
後はひたすらデカールとエッチングパーツのパターンを作ってました。Expo まで後一ヶ月を切りました。 また今年も未完成かー？

I learned an interesting usage of Tamiya Light Curing Putty at some web site, so I'm trying it by myself for the louvers on the hood. First I printed the louver on a transparent sheet.
Then I applied thin layer of the Light Curing Putty on the sheet and cured it. I needed several try and found that it worked better if I put the putty between two sheets and place the light about 12 inches away from the sheet. The ends of the slits look like oval rather than "D" shape pattern printed on the sheet. I guess the image didn't develop clearly because I put the putty on the other side of the printed surface. I'll try it again, but will have to go photoetch route if it doesn't work.
Other than that I've been making the pattern of photoetch parts and decals. There's less than a month till the Expo. I'm afraid I have to visit the show without any new finished model again.
Expo まであと一週間となりまして、残念ながら今年も未完成確定となりました。
いろいろ苦労しながらも、エッチングパーツのパターンを作りました。 そしてポルシェ718以来ですか？4年ぶりのエッチング。今回は熱帯魚用のヒーターを使い、 ケースの周りをプチプチで包んで、腐食液をなるべく暖かく保つようにしました。
相変わらず均一には仕上がりませんが、以前よりもきれいに、一発でできました。 あと２、３回は修正を入れることになると思いますが、とりあえず試作品は成功。
ボディ後部のフューエルキャップは3.8mmくらいに挽きました。 削り取ってしまった最後尾のライトハウジングは真鍮を挽いて復元しました。 750 Monza 0462MD や、 LookSmart の Ferrari 500 TR のものと形状が違いますが、当時のはっきりした写真が見つからないので、 元からあったBBR の形に従いました。

There's only one week till the Expo, unfortunately it's obvious the model won't be finished.
After several trials and errors the photoetch artwork is ready. Then I moved on to etching. It's been 4 years since the last use. This time I used aquarium heater and bubble sheet to keep the etchant warm.
Although the finish is not consistent across the whole sheet, I got successfull sheet at the first try. I'm expecting a few more iterations before I get the final PE parts.
The fuel cap on the rear deck is turned brass at 3.8mm diameter. I also made the small light housing at the rear end using turned brass. The shape of the housing is different from ones of 750 Monza 0462MD or LookSmart Ferrari 500 TR, but I followed BBR as I couldn't find clear picture from the period.

残念ながらほとんど進展はありません。できたエッチングパーツをボディとあわせてみましたが、ボンネット上のルーバーはもう少し間隔を広く、ゲージパネルは一回り大きくなど、いろいろ作り直さなければなりません。

I'm yet to write the report of Ferrar Expo, but I've uploaded the pictures to my photo album.
I haven't made much progress since the last update. I put the photoetched parts in place and found I need to redesign many of them - the slits on the hood should be farther apart or the gauge panel needs to be little bit larger, etc.
